Due to the consistency there's no need for too conscientious a rub, just pinch some and stuff it in! Still a good flake , but quite grassy and sour . Similar to McClelland 40th Anniversary but a little rough around the edges. Still a great blend and is exactly how I remembered. I have NOT opened the tins and smoked it. That being said, Carolina Red Flake did strike me as a solid, good smoking VA: earthy, woody, some dark fruit; a trace of sugar. There are also dark fruits and a bready/toasty and mildly nutty flavor on the finish/aftertaste. some of the small batch/limited editions are a lot of hype. Interestingly fir a low note there is a hint of cocoa and for a mouthfeel an almost soapy astringency but very pleasant. It leaves me wanting more than my self-imposed, nightly two bowls. This is a really great smooth, no bite tobacco which I also learned that Red Virginia usually has a low sugar content and I am sure that is why it is bite free.
