Fabulous fine jewellery and timepieces were the accessories of choice for the brightest stars at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala, which took place in New York on 1st May.
Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore hit the red carpet in earrings featuring 114.36ct of yellow and orange sapphire briolettes, 4.61ct of diamond briolettes and 38ct of diamonds set in 18ct white gold from Chopard’s Copacabana collection. She teamed this with one ring featuring 41.68ct of multi-coloured sapphires set in 18ct rose gold and one ring featuring 6.06ct of diamonds set in 18ct white gold, both from Chopard’s High Jewellery collection.
Also opting to dazzle in Chopard, French actress Léa Seydoux selected to wear earrings featuring one 5.02ct pear-shaped diamond, one 5ct pear-shaped diamond, 6.96ct of diamond beads and 43ct of rose-cut diamonds set in 18ct white gold from the High Jewellery collection. This was paired with one ring featuring one 5.01ct heart-shaped brilliant-cut diamond and 82ct of diamonds set in 18ct white gold from Chopard’s High Jewellery collection and one ring from Chopard’s Ice Cube collection, which featured 26ct of diamonds set in 18ct white gold.


French model and actress Aymeline Valade also chose to wear jewellery from Chopard’s High Jewellery collection, including 18ct white gold earrings featuring two 3.01ct pear-shaped diamonds, 1.5ct of rose-cut diamonds, one 1.05ct round brilliant-cut diamond and one 1.02ct round brilliant-cut diamond. The beautiful earrings were matched with and two High Jewellery collection rings featuring 2.01ct of diamonds and two diamond rings from Chopard’s La Strada collection, all set in 18ct white gold.
Brazilian model Adriana Lima selected to wear earrings featuring 5.85ct of brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18ct white gold from Chopard’s Imperiale collection.




Meanwhile, Piaget also adorned stars at the glamorous annual event. Piaget international brand ambassador Jessica Chastain chose a pair of radiant rose gold earrings and a matching bracelet featuring baguette-cut diamonds and pink sapphire centre stones to accompany her elegant yellow gown. Meanwhile Michael B. Jordan, Piaget’s US ambassador, paired his bold tartan plaid tuxedo with an equally bold green limited edition Altiplano timepiece from the 60th Anniversary collection, along with a pair of Piaget gold cufflinks.
Singer, songwriter and fashion darling Solange Piaget Knowles, who coincidentally shares a middle name with the Maison, made a modern and minimalist jewellery statement in Piaget diamond drop earrings and multiple Possession rings in white gold with diamonds. Her husband Alan Gerard Ferguson wore Piaget cufflinks in white gold.



Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez joined girlfriend Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet wearing a diamond-set Piaget Altiplano Chronograph timepiece in white gold.
Supermodel Ashley Graham accessorised her dramatic custom made crimson and white gown with a pair of Piaget Rose diamond and pink sapphire earrings and matching Rose ring in white gold with diamonds.
To complete her elegant and vintage look, actress and singer Yang Mi attended the Gala wearing a black dress with Piaget Limelight Rose Passion ring and Piaget Limelight Mediterranean Garden earrings.



The annual Met Gala is widely considered to be fashion’s most glamorous and exclusive event. In addition to attracting the biggest names in Hollywood and the fashion industry, the evening raises valuable funds for the museum’s exhibition, which this year is entitled, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”.
